Often I say that wisdom is equally spread.
And that we can learn from each other all over the world, and share the heritage of humanity so we can all improve.
Part of my heritage is Ewe and Ga.

Many think that I am so independent and emancipated because I have moved to Europe.
This is not the case. I have grown up with women that had their own money and earned their own money.

They were not waiting for men to provide for them. Being entrepreneurial is very normal for women in Togo and Ghana. We have been bosses for many generations.

We had many issues, but female emancipation or freedom in the home for women was at a point some could only dream of. My mother thought me to be my own boss. People that do not know this culture that is very matriarchal have a difficulty grasping my ways.

There is a lot to be learnt from people all over the world.

Picture of my great-great grandmother aside my great-grandmother (as a child), Accra, Ghana.

” Trading is generally in the hands of women, and a husband has no control over his wife’s money.

Succession to most offices held by women and inheritance of women’s property are by matrilineal descent.
Inheritance of other property and succession to male-held public offices are by patrilineal descent. Men of the lineage live together in a men’s compound, while women, even after marriage, live with their mothers and children in a women’s compound.” (Quote from GA| People- Encyclopedia Brittannica)
