Many of you that know me have always told me that I am very disciplined.
I do not believe that, because discipline is a process, but nevertheless, I will put my inner dictator to use.

I will share here some tips on how I discipline myself, since discipline is what is needed now.

This is how I remain cold-blooded in difficult situations:

– when in your bed, thank yourself for what you did today. I give myself a kiss on the arm every night before sleeping.
I truly feel the effect of this the next day, as we usually mistreat our bodies with thoughts of fear and stress.

– make a general list of what you wish to accomplish

– before going to sleep, make a list of the things you would like to do the next day. Put the date on top of your list.
(if you cannot finish your list, it is good ! it teaches you the next days to keep to the essentials and see how much you can do in one day.

I really put everything in chronological order.

Example:
*shower
*eat breakfast
*exercise
*call bank
*play guitar
*review finances
*call friend
*…

– even when I’m home (since I work for myself), I NEVER stay in my pajamas ! I always shower, get my nice clothes out, do my hair.
Do not under-estimate the importance of this on your psyche. Humans need meaning, and this contributes to it

– if you feel stressed, despair, angry, etc. call or text your strong and rational friend. Express everything ! Do not feel like you are bothering someone. NO SHAME ! Anger and sadness are perfectly valid.
This will help you to make place in your system, and cleanse out inside. (inner hygiene, as important as showering !)

– eat good food and drink a lot, if possible. Listen to what your body tells you !
The body has a language.
I actually talk to my body. Yes, I do. No shame here !
And what I put into my body, will help with my emotions and thoughts.

– if you are stable, think of how you can help someone.
Call a friend, text a friend, or someone that is alone. Now is not the time to be shy or think you disturb.

– rest ! Mental and emotional charge makes the body tired

– establish boundaries. No is a perfectly valid answer.
This is respecting your limits and your body.

– learn something new every day.

If I come up with more ways I have to keep disciplined, I will update.
